Ursula De Korte was vorige week in Oekraïne, waar ze 6 ziekenhuizen bezocht die deel uitmaken van het Virtucare project: Een bijzonder initiatief om zorgverleners in 8 Oekraïense ziekenhuizen te ondersteunen met online counseling.

Last week, I traveled through Ukraine, together with our partners from Psylaris and the Ukrainian Institute of Traumatherapy. From Cherkasy to Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and back to Kyiv. We visited 6 out of the 8 hospitals within the Virtucare project where healthcare workers treat wounded civilians and soldiers every single day. People who have been working under unimaginable pressure for years now, their stress systems disrupted, their reserves running low, yet they keep showing up.

In Kharkiv, so close to the front line, the hospital staff told us something that really stuck with me: hardly anyone comes to visit them anymore. People are afraid to travel there. When we walked in, you could feel what our presence meant to them. That moment alone made the entire journey worth it. In Zaporizhzhia, 17 km from the front line, I stood in a hospital that serves as the second point of treatment for wounded soldiers; the first being a room with four beds in the trenches. The dedication of the people working there and in Cherkasy, Dnipro and Kyiv is beyond words.
And then, on day three of the trip, it happened: the first client made an appointment on our online counseling platform. Someone who needed support and reached out.

PsyGlobal is building this online counseling platform for the healthcare workers of Ukraine, the people behind the patients, who rarely get to be the ones asking for help. Knowing that they have a place where they can share their feelings and thoughts and just feel support.
This week has been one of the most intense and meaningful of my professional life. The people I met, the stories I heard, the strength I witnessed; it will stay with me for a long time. Thank you to everyone supporting this from a distance. We are making a difference. And we are just getting started.

Vorige week reisde ik door Oekraïne. Van Cherkasy naar Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv en terug naar Kiev. Ik bezocht zes van de acht ziekenhuizen binnen het Virtucare-project waar zorgverleners elke dag gewonde burgers en soldaten behandelen. Mensen die al jaren onder onvoorstelbare druk werken, hun stresssysteem is verstoord, hun reserves raken op, maar toch blijven ze komen opdagen.
PsyGlobal ontwikkelt dit online counselingplatform voor de medewerkers van deze ziekenhuizen in Oekraïne, de mensen achter de patiënten, die zelden zelf om hulp vragen. Wetende dat ze een plek hebben waar ze hun gevoelens en gedachten kunnen delen en steun kunnen voelen.
Deze week was een van de meest intense en betekenisvolle weken uit mijn professionele leven. De mensen die ik heb ontmoet, de verhalen die ik heb gehoord, de kracht die ik heb gezien; dat zal me nog lang bijblijven. Dank aan iedereen die dit op afstand ondersteunt. We maken een verschil. En we zijn nog maar net begonnen.

Bezoek Oekraïne

Afgelopen week was onze collega Ursula De Korte op bezoek in Oekraïne, voor de aftrap van een bijzonder project. Samen met Psylaris, inMotion VR, HEAP Research en the Ukrainian Institute of Traumatherapy is PsyGlobal onderdeel van de Ukraine Partnership Facility (UPF). De UPF is een initiatief van het Nederlandse ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken, gericht op het ondersteunen van Oekraïne in diens hervormingsprocessen en ontwikkeling.

Binnen de Ukraine Partnership Facility is PsyGlobal samen met onze partners onderdeel van project Virtucare, bedoeld om ondersteuning te bieden aan patiënten en zorgverleners in 8 Oekraïense ziekenhuizen. PsyGlobal biedt binnen dit project online counseling aan voor alle medewerkers in deze lokale ziekenhuizen.

Sinds het begin van de grootschalige Russische invasie, nu 4 jaar geleden, staan zorgverleners in ziekenhuizen door heel Oekraïne onder enorme druk. Elke dag worden zij geconfronteerd met complexe en vaak traumatische situaties. De gigantische werkdruk en de emotionele last van het zorgen voor anderen te midden van oorlog en continue onzekerheid eisen een zware tol van hun persoonlijk welzijn. Met gratis 1:1 online counseling sessies door onze Oekraïense collega’s Nataliia Borysova en Tanya Poletaeva, kunnen deze zorgverleners werken aan hun veerkracht, stressmanagement en mentale gezondheid. Het is ons doel om het emotionele welzijn van professionals te versterken, zodat zij hun cruciale werk op een duurzame en gezonde manier kunnen blijven uitvoeren.

Ursula bezocht afgelopen week 6 van de 8 deelnemende ziekenhuizen, waar ze sprak met psychologen, fysiotherapeuten, artsen en andere zorgmedewerkers over hun ervaringen en uitdagingen. Later deze week zal Ursula zelf terugblikken op dit bijzondere bezoek.

We zijn erg trots om deel uit te mogen maken van dit project en op de positieve reacties die we hebben ontvangen van medewerkers tijdens de bezoeken. De eerste sessies zijn al gepland en we kijken er naar uit om met de online sessies zoveel mogelijk mensen die werkzaam zijn in deze ziekenhuizen te ondersteunen.

 

Trauma Treatment

Afgelopen jaar werkte PsyGlobal al samen met Radboud University tijdens de talencursus voor Oekraïense professionals. Dit jaar komt daar een andere mooie samenwerking bij:

Begin februari is de Introductiecursus Psychodiagnostiek en Traumazorg voor Oekraïense psychologen van start gegaan. Deze training, geaccrediteerd door het Kwaliteitsregister gz-psycholoog en gegeven door psychotherapeut Kim van Nimwegen, helpt deelnemers om trauma-gerelateerde klachten door oorlog en ontheemding te herkennen en te behandelen. De focus ligt op veilige, professionele en evidence-based zorg: van het herkennen van PTSS tot het toepassen van stabilisatie- en exposuretechnieken.

We zijn (wederom) erg trots op deze samenwerking met de Radboud Universiteit, maar bovenal op ‘onze’ Oekraïense professionals die zich blijven ontwikkelen en inzetten voor kwalitatieve traumazorg, in een voor henzelf ook complexe en kwetsbare context.

 

Taalcertificaten

Eind januari mochten we 34 Oekraïense psychologen hun certificaat uitreiken na het afronden van de cursus Nederlands.

Deze mijlpaal konden we vieren dankzij de samenwerking van PsyGlobal en Radboud en Wageningen in’to Languages. Met deze cursus zetten de psychologen een belangrijke volgende stap richting professionele groei en integratie binnen het Nederlandse zorgsysteem.

We zijn dankbaar voor de samenwerking die deze mijlpaal mogelijk maakt. En bovenal zijn we super trots op de inzet en de motivatie van deze groep. Gefeliciteerd aan alle deelnemers! 🌼

Your Role

The Onboarding Specialist supports PsyGlobal’s recruiters and account managers in the administrative and operational onboarding process of Mental Health Professionals (MHPs) who are placed with Mental Health Organisations (MHOs) through PsyGlobal’s payroll/secondment construction.

Once a successful match has been made and the client chooses to work with PsyGlobal’s payroll solution, the Onboarding Specialist plays a key role in ensuring that all required information, documentation, and contracts are correctly collected, processed, and finalised. The goal of the role is to ensure a smooth, compliant, and timely start of the MHP at the organisation.

This internship offers hands-on experience in HR administration, onboarding processes, payroll coordination, and stakeholder communication within an international, mission-driven organisation.

What you’ll do

  • Coordinating the onboarding process after a successful match between a mental health professional (MHP) and a client organisation (MHO)
  • Collecting, checking, and processing all required documentation and personal data from both the professional and the client
  • Guiding MHPs and MHOs through the onboarding requirements and supporting them in delivering complete and correct information
  • Entering and managing data in the systems of PsyGlobal and external payroll partners
  • Following up on outstanding documentation, approvals, and signatures
  • Supporting the preparation, distribution, and signing of contracts
  • Monitoring onboarding timelines and ensuring agreed start dates are met
  • Acting as a point of contact for onboarding-related questions from professionals, clients, and internal teams
  • Collaborating closely with recruiters, account managers, and external payroll partners to ensure a seamless process

Who you are

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a (Dutch) HBO or WO programme, for example in HRM, Business Administration, International Business, or a related field
  • Strong interest in HR administration, onboarding processes, and payroll or secondment constructions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (required) and ideally also in Dutch
  • Accurate, structured, and detail-oriented working style
  • Proactive, organised, and comfortable following up on administrative processes
  • Able to manage multiple onboarding cases simultaneously
  • Comfortable working with in constantly adapting conditions of administrative processes
  • Affinity with mental health, international professionals, and intercultural work is an advantage
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, mission-driven organisation

De toegevoegde waarde van L&D
