We mediate for 4 different roles

There are various roles through which we provide care to non-Dutch-speaking clients.

Psychologist

As a basic psychologist, you work under the supervision of a lead therapist (‘regiebehandelaar’). Evidence-based treatments such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and EMDR are used in mental health care.

POH-GGZ

The POH-GGZ (Primary Care Mental Health Support) works within a family doctor’s practice under the responsibility of the GP.

Social Worker

Social workers operate within municipalities, public health services (GGDs), or mental health organisations (GGZ), providing support to individuals, families, and groups with mental health issues.

Counselor

As a counselor, you work within the municipality or public health service (GGD) in the field of psychosocial support. The goal is to enhance the mental well-being and resilience of individuals.

The advantages of working with international talent

There is a large workforce potential with diverse cultural backgrounds, both domestically and internationally, that is not yet being utilized. Guiding this talent towards suitable positions results in:

Beter mental health care

Lower costs

Less pressure on personnel

Shorter waiting lists

Perspective for underutilised talent

Frequently asked questions

1. In what types of collaboration can a mental health professional be deployed?

Depending on the situation and your needs, several collaboration models are possible:

Direct employment: You can choose to hire the mental health professional directly. In this case, a one-time recruitment fee is charged for our services. Currently, PsyGlobal receives subsidies for all Ukrainian mental health professionals we place at mental health institutions and GP practices (basic psychologists and POH-GGZ). For this group, we do not charge a recruitment fee to our partners.

Temporary staffing: Deployment through a temporary staffing model that follows the applicable phase system.

Payroll: Deployment for a minimum number of hours and for a predetermined fixed period.

The choice of model is always determined in consultation with you.

2. What is a temporary staffing model (phase system)?

In a temporary staffing model, the mental health professional is employed by the staffing agency and deployed at the client organization. This follows the phase system (Phase A/B/C), in which the professional’s employment rights and job security gradually increase as the collaboration continues. The organization benefits from flexibility, while the staffing agency handles all administrative tasks and employer responsibilities.

3. How does a payroll arrangement work?

In a payroll model, the mental health professional works exclusively for one organization for a predetermined period and a minimum number of hours. The professional is formally on the payroll of the payroll organization, while the client organization provides day-to-day supervision. This model offers more stability than temporary staffing.

4. What is the difference between temporary staffing and payroll?

The main difference between temporary staffing and payroll is flexibility versus security:

  • Temporary staffing is more flexible and suitable for variable deployment.

  • Payroll provides greater continuity and fixed agreements regarding hours and duration.

In both cases, PsyGlobal or a PsyGlobal partner assumes the formal/legal employer role. We are responsible for:

  • the employment contract

  • salary payments

  • payroll taxes and contributions

  • continued payment during illness

  • compliance with labor laws and collective agreements

  • personnel administration

The organization where the employee actually works usually provides day-to-day supervision but is not the legal employer.

5. Who is responsible for supervision?

We consider supervision an essential part of providing high-quality and safe care. In principle, the organization itself is responsible for arranging appropriate supervision for the mental health professional.

PsyGlobal provides additional support by:

  • Providing information about the Dutch mental health care system

  • Explaining tasks, methodologies, and relevant laws and regulations

  • Offering webinars, training, and courses

  • Facilitating peer supervision where possible

However, we emphasize that it is important for the organization itself to establish structured supervision internally.

6. How does PsyGlobal recruit and screen mental health professionals?

PsyGlobal carefully recruits and screens all mental health professionals. In this process, we consider, among other things:

  • Degrees and additional training

  • Whether and at what level degrees have been recognized in the Netherlands

  • Whether degrees have been validated according to the applicable Dutch procedures

This ensures that every professional we introduce to your organization meets the necessary requirements to work in the Netherlands.

7. Is a LOGO statement or BIZ registration required for Ukrainian mental health professionals?

At the moment, a LOGO statement or BIZ (Governance Statement for Deployability in the Healthcare Performance Model) is not required for Ukrainian mental health professionals working as basic psychologists in specialized mental health care.

They do not currently need this statement in order to provide billable care within the healthcare performance model. PsyGlobal receives annual updates on this from the Ministry of Justice and Security. For now, this exception applies as long as the Regulation on Medical Care for Ukrainian Displaced Persons (RMO) remains in effect.
